The power of one.
“Melissa does not allow you to settle for less than what you are absolutely excited and passionate about.”
“Sapis” means “You are wise” in Latin, and that phrase captures Melissa’s approach: Melissa helps individuals and groups explore possibilities, connect with their passions, and discover their own wisdom.
As President of Sapis Insight since 2009, Melissa devotes her energy to using her coaching, training, and facilitation skills to help individuals and organizations activate their full potential.
Over Melissa’s two decades of experience with corporations, small businesses, and governments, she has travelled from corporate board rooms in the oil sands to non-electrified communities in rural Argentina, and everywhere in between.
After earning her engineering degree, Melissa worked in the technical services sector for four years. She joined The Delphi Group in 1997, where she began putting her passion for the environment into action. As a Vice President at The Delphi Group, she advised corporations, governments, and institutions on climate change, clean energy, and sustainability issues. She continues to offer consulting expertise in the climate change and sustainability fields.
Melissa lives her environmental and social commitments every day, in her business and at home. In 2004, she was named to Eco-Canada’s Honour Roll as one of 10 recognized leaders in the environmental industry. With more than a decade’s worth of experience in the Green Economy, she’s dedicated much of her career to an issue that she’s passionate about. At home, she uses solar panels to supply her hot water, and a waste-wood heating system provides winter warmth. 10% of Sapis Insight sales are donated to environmental and youth initiatives. Melissa engages, informs, and inspires leaders and the next generation of leaders through a variety of volunteer initiatives.
Melissa has a passion for travel, and has worked and played in over 40 countries, and in every Canadian province and territory. One of her favourite quotes is “Ride si sapis” – “Laugh if you are wise.”
